It is important to know these two words are similar but distinctly different. Sexism as an ideology is used by misogynists to justify their beliefs and ignorance.
Misogynists are like drones who fight to maintain the patriarchy and their perceived superiority over women.

We live in a society where hatred and ignorance are rampant everywhere. Internalized misogyny refers to the social norms in our subconscious that influence attitudes toward women and girls. These attitudes are influenced by the patriarchy and its drones.

Due to the structural barriers in society, women and girls are disproportionally harmed by a changing planet and ignorance. Even within the movement their stories and experiences are often ignored or downplayed.
Some men now have attracted the stigma of “feminine branding” to climate change and environmental justice movements. They have realized that this movement threatens their societal position and the patriarchy itself. This deep desire to protect their worldview from change and equality is a threat to us all.
